Early Help and Family Support

Early Help and Family Support

At Haydon Abbey, we believe that every child and family sometimes needs a little extra help — and that’s okay.

Our aim is to provide the right support at the right time, so that small worries don’t become bigger challenges later on.

Early Help is about working together with families to make things easier, whether the concern is around attendance, emotional wellbeing, routines, behaviour, or relationships at home or school.

Our Family Worker and pastoral team, offer a safe, non-judgemental space for parents and carers to talk through any concerns.

Support is always tailored to each family’s needs and may include:

  • Encouraging regular attendance and good routines, including sleep and morning habits

  • Helping children manage feelings, friendships, or confidence in school

  • Offering guidance with boundaries and behaviour at home

  • Supporting families with communication between home and school

  • Signposting to other agencies or community support if needed

  •

We know that attendance is a key factor in every child’s learning and wellbeing — every session really does count. But we also understand that each family’s situation is unique, and we will always listen and work with you to find the best way forward.

If you’d like to talk about any worries or find out more about Early Help, please get in touch through the school office on 01296 482278.
