Haydon Abbey School and Pre-School

We plant the seeds and help them grow

Friday 5 January 2018

Dear Parents/Carers

This term it is Year 3’s turn to have Forest School sessions. The Year 3 classes will have sessions on alternate weeks starting with 3AK on Tuesday 9th January.

Children need to wear their school uniform as normal and bring their Forest School clothes in a named bag to be hung on their pegs in the cloakroom. Please ensure their Forest School clothes are in school every week in case we have to swap sessions around.

To take part in Forest School this term the children will need several layers of clothing to keep them warm in the cold weather. May we suggest they bring at least;

A warm long sleeved top and a jumper

A warm waterproof coat

A pair of warm socks (these may get wet and dirty and so will need to be changed)

A pair of leggings/tracksuit bottoms

A pair of sturdy boots or wellies

A pair of waterproof trousers if you have them

A hat, a scarf and gloves

We need adult volunteers to join us in Forest School. Even if you can’t make all of the sessions any help would be greatly appreciated. Please let your child’s class teacher know if you can volunteer for any of the sessions.

If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to ask a member of staff.

Yours faithfully

Mrs D Winter
